Well Known District Jurist Succumbs in Salt Lake to Long Illness

Salt Lake City, Aug 5 (AP)--Charles Wesley Morse, 81, judge on the Third judicial district bench for 16 years and a leader of Utah Masons, died here Thursday night following a lengthy illness.

He was regarded as an expert in water litigation.

Judge Morse was past grand master of the Utah Grand Masonic lodge. He had held office in both the Scottish and York rite bodies.

Judge Morse was stricken with coronary thrombosis last Dec. 3. The jurist came to Salt Lake City in 1885 from Kansas and became active in the Republican party.
