James Vincent Glass, age 70 of Gulf Shores, Alabama passed away on Feb. 3, 2013.
He was born Oct. 20, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama to Vincent Bell and Elleen Spiller Glass.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Farley, whom he married on July 12, 1973, his daughter Susan Glass Nelson and her husband Todd and their two little girls Ava Callan and Eliza Adeline; and his brother Fred Glass and wife Carol and nephews Glen and Ryan and their families.
Jimmy, or ( Glass ) as many of his friends called him, was a lifetime resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He grew up in Northport and attended Tuscaloosa County High School and graduated in 1961. Following high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a radioman on the U.S.S. Nitro. after the military he attended the University of Alabama and later the University of South Alabama. He was active in the schools of business and theater and received a degree in Theater Management. His work history included inspector for the Mobile Housing Authority, technical director of the Mobile Saenger Theatre, and director of volunteer services at Searcy Hospital in Mount Vernon, Alabama. He later transferred to Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa. While working there he was a nurse recruiter and worked in Human Resources and Payroll.
