Judith Gene Durr Harmon, 74, of Taylorville died at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005, in Taylorville Care Center.

She was born March 29, 1931, in Taylorville, the daughter of Eugene Blakely and Florence Roseanne Childers Durr. She married John Harmon in April of 1950. He died October 28, 1982. She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1949 and attended Steven College in Columbia, MO. She retired as a clerk from St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, with 35 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Taylorville, and church organist for many years.

Surviving are her sons: David (wife Marleen) Harmon of Thayer, Thomas (wife June) Harmon of Springfield and Daniel (wife Marsha) Harmon of Taylorville; daughter, Susan (husband Donald) Cody of Pawnee; grandchildren: Dave (wife Regan) Harmon and Matthew Harmon, both of Thayer, Jason (wife Angie) Harmon and Lauren Harmon, both of Springfield, Chris Harmon of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Harmon of Indianapolis, IN, and Jacelyn Cody and Jessie Cody, both of Pawnee; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Timothy Harmon; and sister, Molly Pustmueller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, in Sutton Memorial Home, with Rev. William Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to services in the funeral home.
