Obituary

MEMPHIS – Billy Adam Bass passed away at his residence on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015. He was born to Noah Chester and Annie Lois Bass on Nov. 7, 1935, in Mississippi. He was a member of Leawood Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War, was a Master Mason and Shriner. He retired from Schering-Plough Inc. of Memphis.
Service will be held at Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Home Chapel today, Sept. 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc.
Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bass of Memphis; one daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Wilbur of Bartlett, Tennessee; two sons, Steve (Lisa) Bass of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Brian (Bridget) Bass of Arlington, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jane Coggins of Memphis, Martha Ann Stewart of Tupelo, Patty Burks of Tupelo; and one brother, Bobby Bass of Pontotoc.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be today, Sept. 23, 2015, at Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m.
