Everett Edward Walker, 88, of Vinita, OK, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 11, 2015 at Heartsworth Nursing in Vinita.

He was born January 28, 1927 in Welch, OK to Johnnie Walker and Alma (LaDuke) Walker.

Everett attended the West Anthracite School. He was a retired coal miner, having operated heavy equipment for Leon’s Coal Co. and others. He was known for his hard work. In 1957, he married Jewell Dean Cravens. On February 16, 1986, Jewell preceded him in death. On November 2, 1988, he married his current wife, Billie. Everett was also preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Billie, of the home; three sons, Jimmy Dean Walker of Ottawa, KS, Gary Walker and wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, OK, and Rick Stafford and wife Sherrill of Grove, OK; four daughters, Denise Shoemaker of Central City, NE, Janet Stepp and husband Richard of Miami, OK, Wanda Jordan and husband John of Nowata, OK, and Brenda Kerns and husband Bill of Pensacola, FL; 3 step-children, Steve Nigh of Miami, Ronnie Nigh of Afton, and Karen Elderfield of Vinita; one brother, William Walker of Miami, OK; 34 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and10 great-great grandchildren; several nephew and nieces, along with a host of friends. A visitation will be held Monday evening, Sept. 14, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at the Thomas Funeral Home. Frank Molina will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bluejacket Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jimmy Walker, Gary Walker, Rick Stafford, John Jordan, Richard Stepp, and Bill Kerns.
