Mr. John P. Wood, age 93, of Houston passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the V. A. Hospital in Houston. Mr. Wood was born August 31, 1922 in Trinity, Texas to William Jesse and Emily Smith Wood. He was veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army and was retired as a purchasing agent in the food business. Mr. Wood served as a deacon for many years at the Wood Forest Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Harley Symone Shiflet; brothers, Bill Wood, George Wood and Clifford "Puny" Wood and sister, Betty Wood Heath.
Funeral services for Mr. John P. Wood will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12 noon in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Patrick Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
