Obituary
Gudrun Helene Odegard, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2015. Goodie was born on October 21, 1920 to Halvor and Louise Brustad at Mayville, N.D. She married Olaf Odegard on July 21, 1940 and they were blessed with three children. Several years after her husband's passing in 1988, she moved to Arlington, Wash., to be closer to her children. She married again in 2001, to Melvin Maule, until his passing in 2010.
Goodie was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, (Rueben); sister (Arline), and granddaughter (Kristin).
She leaves behind her children, Gerald Odegard (Linda), Steven Odegard (Ramona) and Dannielle Gentry (Lee); grandchildren, Michael Odegard (Betsy), Jeff Odegard (Laura), Julie Odegard, Amy Gentry and Danica Kazen (Greg); and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken Brustad (Jean), George Brustad and sister, Lilly Strom.
She is loved and missed greatly! Goodie loved life and was thankful for each day. She always looked forward to time spent with family and friends, was a great cook, loved spending time gardening, fishing, and being able to help someone in need. She also treasured the three years she was housemother at NDSU for a group of young men at the Farmhouse Fraternity.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Atonement Free Lutheran Church, Arlington, Wash. There will be a gravesite service on Saturday July 11, 2015 at New Town, N.D. at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made on her behalf to Seattle Children's Hospital or to .
