Joan Marie Fuchs was born April 5, 1953, to Robert G. and Janice Fuchs. She grew up in Laurens, Iowa, graduating from Laurens High School in 1971. She continued her education earning an Associate’s Degree at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Joan lived the majority of her adult life in Spirit Lake, Iowa and Spencer, Iowa. Joan worked for the State of Iowa, and dedicated herself to a career working with those less fortunate. In 2003, Joan married Steve Ingram at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. After retirement, Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid gardener and loved watching the birds visit her beautiful flower garden. After Steve’s passing in 2014, Joan moved to Story City to be closer to her son’s family who felt blessed by her presence.

Joan is survived by her son, Rob (Crystal) Burns of Story City; granddaughters Ashley and Allison, mother Janice Fuchs of Laurens; sisters Sandra Carlson of Dakota Dunes, S.D., Linda Peterson of Alice, TX; brothers Dennis (Cathy) Fuchs and Don (Nancy) Fuchs of Laurens; many beloved nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her father Robert G. Fuchs, husband Steve Ingram, and step-son Lonney Ingram.
