Lola May Hale, 72, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at her residence. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., two hours prior to the funeral services at 2 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Bogan officiating. Burial will follow in Ater Cemetery.

Lola May was born in Gatesville, Texas, to the late Prentice Allen Bray and Lola Bell Honeycutt Bray. She attended schools in Gatesville. On March 17, 1960, she married Robert Ray Hale.

Lola worked at Gulf States United, Southwestern Bell and retired from AT & T after 30 years of service. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was also a pet lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on June 15, 1996; and her half-brother, Chester b. Bray.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Ray Hale, Jr., of Austin, and Billy Charles Hale and wife, Cindy, of Turnersville; daughter, Belinda Hale Ireland, of Gatesville; grandchildren: David Heath Bruton, Jared Alan Bruton, Tannon Shane Bruton, Elizabeth Ireland, Kari Lyn Carothers, Brandi Leigh Hale, and Dustin Wade Hale; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
