S. L. Business Man Stricken Fatally While in Office

Wade Loofbourow, Clothing Concern Secretary, Succumbs

Wade Loofbourow, 1340 Tenth East street, secretary of the Ottenheimer company and for many years active in business and church circles of Salt Lake, died in his office Thursday at 1:30 p. m. of heart disease.
Mt. Loofbourow had been associated with the Ottenheimer company 25 years and
previously had been employed by mining concerns in Caliente, Nev., and Park City.
Born in Atlantic, Iowa, February 6, 1871, Mr. Loofbourow came to Salt Lake in 1888. His father, Charles F. Loofbourow, was a prominent member of the bar here for many years.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nettie Johnson Loofbourow, whom he married here in 1894; two sons, Dr. Graham C, Loofbourow, principal of the University of California elementary training school at Berkeley, and Roger Loofbourow of this city; two daughters, Miss Louise W. Loofbourow of Salt Lake and Mrs. Ernest Bridenbaugh of Upland, Cal.; five grandchildren; three brothers: former Congressman Frederick C. Loofbourow of Salt Lake, Dr. Leon L. Loofbourow, Methodist minister of Modesto, Cal., ond Jesse H. Loofbourow, also of Modesto.
Mr. Loofbourow was a member of the Presbyterian church ever since coming to this city, was a charter member of the Third Presbyterian church, and was a member of its board of trustees and sessions, and superintendent of the Sunday school for many years.
He had been a member of the board of trustees of Westminster college for more than 20 years, and was active in affairs of the Salt Lake Credit Men's association.
Tentative plans provide for funeral services Sunday afternoon in the Third Presbyterian church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
