Obituary:

Charles Wesley Martin, son of the Rev. Joshua Martin, died at 6 o’clock this morning at his home, No. 1024 Jackson.
Mr. Martin was born at Washington, O., February 2, 1846, came west with his parents when but a boy and became a student in the Wesleyan university at Mount Pleasant, Ia., at which place he afterwards read law. He was admitted to the bar in 1881 at Georgetown, Tex., and practiced there two years. Later, he was made treasurer of Appanoose county, Iowa, and in 1891 came to Topeka where he has since resided.
He possessed an unusually kind and amiable disposition, was a fine singer, generous to a fault, honorable in his ways and ever loyal to his friends who, in his departure, will keenly feel their loss.
