Cedar Falls -- Final rites for William Jasper
Kelly, 74, who died at Sartori Memorial hos-
pital late Saturday, will be at the Dahl
funeral home at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, conduct-
ed by Dr. H. D. Temple.
Kelly, who resided at 1014 West Tenth street,
had lived in Cedar Falls for more than 20
years and for many years was employed by a
local transfer company.
He had not been able to work for the last
several years and had suffered six strokes
before the final one a week ago, according
to members of the family
He had been at the hospital since Mar. 4.
He was born July 18, 1874, in Nebraska, son
of Robert Hickerson and Nancy Kelly, the
eldest of 10 children. While he was a young
boy the family moved to Missouri, where he
grew to manhood. He married Leah Gingerich
at Lancaster, Mo., Dec. 23, 1894.
They came to Iowa and farmed in the vicinity
of Traer for a number of years before coming
to Cedar Falls. They were the parents of
10 children.
Surviving are his widow, six daughters and
three sons. They include Mrs. Esther Work-
man, ?05 Main street; Mrs. Robert Evans,
1014 West Tenth street, Mrs. Robert Snyder,
842 Congrer street, Waterloo; Mrs. Wesley
White, North English; Mrs. Arthur Garrison
Route 1, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Joseph Pickens,
Ottumwa; Ira, at home; Ernest, Grand
Meadow, Minn., and Clarence, Eagle Point,
Oregon.
There are 40 grandchildren and 16 great
grandchildren. His parents, a daughter, two
sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
The body is at the Dahl funeral home.
