Letha Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson was born October 26, 1926, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, to Martin Bede McCann and Lela Eva (Slaybaugh) McCann. At 18 months of age, Betty moved by train to Gillette, Wyoming, where her family homesteaded and Betty was raised. Betty married J.W. Stroup and had two sons, Toby and Gary. Later Betty married Dale J. Johnson and had one son, Chris. Betty loved her flower garden, sewing and bird watching, but her greatest love was her grandchildren, great grandchild and great, great grandchild.
Betty is survived by her sons, Toby (Marie) Johnson of Big Horn, Wyoming, and Gary (Kathy) Johnson of Buffalo, Wyoming. She is survived by six grandchildren: Debbie LaFleiche of Anchorage, Alaska; Sara Johnson of Dodge, Nebraska; Kristopher and Ryan Johnson of Big Horn, Wyoming; Mardi and Jana Johnson of Seattle, Washington. She is survived by one great grandson, Dylan (Ashley) Johnson of Napa, Idaho, and one great-great granddaughter, Annabella Rose Johnson, of Napa, Idaho. She is survived by one brother, Toddy McCann (Roberta), and sister-in-law, Janette Boden.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Dale, her son, Chris, her grandson, Ayron Johnson, her sister, Juanita McCann, her two brothers, Wayne and Glen Boden, and her daughter-in-law, Linda.
