IRA ROSS ALLEN
Ira Ross Allen, 75, Heritage House Convalesvent Center, Greencastle, died Sunday morning at Putnam County Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1915 at Reelsville, he was the son of Alva G. and Sybill (Chadwick) Allen.
He worked at Wilson Construction Co., Bloomington, for many years and with the City of Brazil.
Survivors include two sons, Ross E. Allen, Brentwood, N.Y. and John Allen, Westville; four daughters, Julia Burns, Greencastle, Myra Higgins, Brazil, Doris Cooksey, Reelsville, and Norma Williams, Indianapolis; a brother Wayne Allen, Reelsville; a sister, Sarah Belle Davis, Phoenix, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his a son, Ronny Allen, and a brother Carl Allen.
Graveside service were held Tuesday at Restlawn Cemetery, Brazil, with Rev. Doug Parkey officiating.
Lawson-Slack Funeral Home, Brazil was in charge of arrangements.
