Three sisters, Josephine Anne Johnson, Naomi Ruth Johnson and Della June Johnson were killed when a flash flood hit Hildale, Utah. Josephine and Naomi Johnson were sister-wives married to Joesph Newel Jessop, Sr. (son of Merril Jessop). All the daughters of the two women, Melissa Jessop, Valiant Jessop, Velvet Jessop, Rebekah Jessop, Sweet Caress Jessop, Ruth Jessop and Naomi Jessop were also killed. Joesphine's son, Joseph Newel Jessop, Jr survived.

Della June Johnson Black who was married to Sheldon Black also died in the flood with her 2 daughters, Melanie Black and LaRue Black. She had 2 sons who survived and one son, Tyson Lukas Black who is missing and presumed dead.

Veda Louise Oler and Kendall Lucas Johnson are the parents of Josephine, while Kendall Lucas Johnson and Rebecca Lynne Palmer are the parents of Naomi and Della.
