Funeral services for Michael E. Means, age 66, of Tilden, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Reverend Michael Awe will officiate, with burial in Tilden City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7603 and American Legion Post 170.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.
Michael died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Michael Edward Means, son of Ruben (Eddie) and Margaret (Lieswald) Means, was born February 23, 1949, at Tilden, Nebraska. Mike graduated from Tilden High School in 1967. On June 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Dianna Duhachek at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Three children were born to them: Amanda, Jennifer, and Matthew.
Mike spent four years in the United States Navy after graduation. He farmed before becoming a rural mail carrier and had just recently retired. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 170 in Tilden.
Mike is survived by his wife, Dianna of Tilden, Nebraska; children, Amanda Clausen of Norfolk, Nebraska, Jennifer Prewitt of Des Moines, Iowa, and Matt Means of Norfolk; four grandsons, Justin, Riley, Jared, and Ryan; sister, Kathy (Bob) Brown of Tilden; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Margaret Means.
