William O. and Martha (Swift) Collins, the former of whom was born in Dallas, this state, and the latter in Concrete, Dewitt county, showing that both families were early founded in the stanch old Lone Star commonwealth. A. G. Collins, the paternal grandfather of the subject of this review, was numbered among the early settlers of Dallas county, with whose civic and industrial upbuilding he was prominently identified. The parents of Mr. Collins were residents of Texas at the time of their death, and the father's active career was to a large extent one of active and successful association with stock business.
