She was the second of seven children born to the late Talmadge Andrew and Lucille McElhaney Callaham. Melba’s family meant everything to her, being very close to each of them. She had attended Silverdale Baptist Church.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Reubin L. Young; second husband, Lewis H. Robinson and son-in-law, Dewey M. Metts, III.
Survivors include her son, Charles Edward Young and wife, Cindy,Chattanooga; daughter, Donna Metts, Chattanooga; brothers, L.T. Callaham and wife, Jo, Chattanooga, Frank Callahan and wife, Gilda, Graysville, GA, Dr. Mac Callaham and wife, Pat, Dahlonega, GA and Bobby Callaham and wife, Susan, Orlando, FL; sisters, Judy Patton and husband, Glenn, Georgetown, TN and Jean Williams, Kennesaw, GA; her adored grandchildren, Kayley Brown and husband, Taylor, Chillicothe, OH and Kyle Young, Chattanooga, many beloved nieces and nephews.
Gravesides services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 24, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
