Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel for Edgar S. Fortenberry, age 75, of Columbia, MS. He died Monday, September 21, 2015 in Lumberton,MS. Bro. Roger Miller, Bro. Louis Nicolosi,and Bro Allen Turnage will officiate the services.Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.,Tuesday, September 22, 2015. A native of Marion County, he was a retired insurance agent, and a member of Pine Burr Baptist Church and a Shriner.
Mr. Fortenberry is survived by his wife, Lettie B. Fortenberry, Columbia; Son: Shane Fortenberry (Jessica), Columbia, MS; Daughter: Mitzi Bullock (Brian), Columbia, MS; Sisters: Dorothy Cook and Carolyn Hurst of Columbia, MS; Four grandchildren; numberous nieces & nephews and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents: Rod & Ada Sims Fortenberry, two brothers R.E. Fortenberry & Harold Fortenberry, and a sister, Kathryn Robbins.
Pallbearers are Tanner Cook, Gene Hurst, Pat Hurst, Wesley Bullock, Zachary Fortenberry, and Deron Keen.
Hathorn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
