Mr. Maurice E. "Morrie" Thompson, 66, of Duncansville, Pa died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at UPMC - Altoona, Altoona, after an extended illness.
Mr. Thompson was born in Altoona, Pa on December 6, 1948, son of the late George E. and Martha H. (Nearfoof) Thompson. He was formerly married to Sondra I. Brownell who is surviving.
He retired in December 2013 as a Kitchen Designer and Salesman at Your Lumber Co. Altoona with 14 years of service. He was former owner of the Kitchen House, Duncansville for 5 years.
He had attented First Lutheran Church Altoona.
Morrie was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School. He enjoyed working on automobiles and attending dirt track races in 13 states for the past 20 years with his son and a large group of friends with the same interests.
He is survived by a son Josh Taylor (Girlfriend Betty) Thompson of Altoona, Pa; 2 bothers George E. (Joyce) Thompson & Family, Bellwood, Pa; and Edgar H. (Jane) Thompson & Family, of Greenwood, Altoona, Pa.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa at 8:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 with Rev. Barry Fulmar officiating.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home.
