Born August 7, 1947 in Norwich, he was a son of the late Emerson and Anne (Tokar) Freeman.
Ed was a proud veteran having served with the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. After his active service, he went to work for Electric Boat in Groton as a Draftsman. He was a member of the MDA Union there. Ed retired in 2011.
He married Ellen Marie Norris on June 30, 1984. The couple moved to Jewett City where they made their home and family. Ed enjoyed gardening, comic book collecting, computer gaming, and joking with a very original sense of humor. Most importantly, he will be remembered by his family as a hardworking man, devoted to his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed but always remembered by his beloved wife of 31 years, his daughter Lisa Freeman, her fiancé, Doug Church, all of Jewett City; a brother, Albert Freeman, a sister, Annette Freeman, both of Vermont; a cousin, Phil McNerney and numerous extended family and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd at 11am at the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Road, Lebanon, CT. There are no calling hours.
