NEWARK: Gretchen R. Johnson, 71, of 15 South Third Street, Newark, died Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Friday, November 17, 1939 in Crellin Maryland to the late Clyde and Lena (Dumire) Ellis.
She was a 1958 Graduate of Newcomerstown High School, She retired from Newark City Schools as a Custodian.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Nethers of Newark; six grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Sharpless of Newark; one brother, Raymond Ellis of Newcomerstown. She was preceeded in death by a daughter, Debra Johnson-Covic; six brothers, Dale, Ivan, Richard, Doran, Ward and Jack Ellis.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 08, 2011 11:00 a.m. at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Irwin Sesher officiating.
