Jean was born July 25, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of William F. and Elsie Mae Gorrell Brown.
Jean attended Vincennes University and proudly served her country in the Illinois National Guard for over 30 years. She served from 1978-2005 and continued to serve in a contractual status in the ESGR program until 2015. Jean volunteered at Camp CILCA, serving as treasurer, Toys for Tots, Lutheran High School and Sojourn. She enjoyed spending time traveling with family and friends, movies and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two sons, Bryan A. Collier of Springfield and Cody M. (wife, Jessica) Collier of St. Louis; ex-husband, James M. Collier of Murphysboro; one sister, Teena L. (husband, Tom) Cowan of Cedar City, UT; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved dog, Linus.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Graveside Ceremony: The family will host a graveside ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
