LAPORTE - James Edward Cole A.K.A. Elvis, 74, was born June 29, 1941 to Dennis and Julie (Salyers) Cole (both deceased) in Salyersville, KY, was raised by Dennis and stepmother Jewel Cole and passed away at 6 am on September 15th, 2015. He married Karen Lee O'Connell on July 30, 1969 (deceased). James and Karen gave birth to Randall James Cole in 1970, who passed away shortly after birth. James started working at Aero Metals La Porte in 1979 and continued until he went to part time in 2014. James loved traveling. He and Karen went on many trips to Graceland and Dollywood. James was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. James was known to many As Elvis, as he entered many Elvis Presley impersonation contests. Recently James lost his brother, Roger Cole of Osceola. James is survived by brothers and sisters, Bill Cole (Jeri) of Knox, Bob Cole (Lynn) of Knox, Wanda Landrum (Bill) of Knox, Patty Lawson (Don) of North Judson, Connie Johnson (Chris) of Knox, Denise Cole of Knox, Willis Cole of Goshen, Albert Cole of North Judson, Janet Trader of Logansport, Ladonna Perry (girlfriend) and stepdaughter Kristine Tamlin of La Porte. James has been donated to Med Cure for scientific research. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
