BARNES, Sally Catron 83, formerly of Needham, Massachusetts, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. She had resided there during the past year. She was born in Boston, MA. on February 11, 1930, daughter of the late Lee Riley Catron and Dorothy (Brooks) Catron. She was the wife of Wade E. Barnes, from their marriage in 1958 until his death in 2005. During their marriage, they resided and raised a family in Needham, Massachusetts. After 46 years in Needham, she moved to Northborough and later to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Mrs. Barnes grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts, and she graduated from Belmont High School in 1947. In 1951, she graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She later graduated from the Harvard-Radcliffe graduate business program. She worked as a human resources manager for several years. Mrs. Barnes was a parishioner of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts. She was a social person, enjoying her time with family and friends. When she was younger, she enjoyed playing golf. In recent years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Warren and Jacqueline (Reeve) Barnes of Northborough, Massachusetts and Howard Barnes of Wellesley, Massachusetts; her granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Barnes of Northborough, Massachusetts, and cousins. Burial will be in Nashua, and will be private. Arrangements are in care of the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, NH 03064.
