SHIRLEY COWAN, 67, of Colorado Springs died of heart failure Thursday at a local hospital. She was a Realtor with Colorado Home Brokers. Miss Cowan worked for the Social Security Administration and the Postal Service for a total of 30 years before retiring.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Marion Harrison officiating. Cremation and private interment are planned.

Miss Cowan was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Driggs, Idaho, to John B. and Pearl Jane (Clegg) Cowan. She attended the University of Idaho. Miss Cowan served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force during World War II. She earned her real estate agent license in 1981. Miss Cowan was a poet and member of the Poetry Fellowship of Colorado Springs. Many of her works had been published, and she was a contributor to the Annual Skyliner's Edition.
