Ruby Ann Harvey, 63, of 210 Lincoln St., Beckley, W.Va., died on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a short illness.

She was born on May 11, 1952, in Hinton, W.Va., a daughter of Cody L. Harvey and wife Lestine Manzy Adkins Harvey.

Ruby was a graduate of Shady Spring High School in Raleigh County, W.Va. She was a retail clerk and also worked in home health care. Ruby enjoyed genealogy and authored five books in this area. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church at Daniels, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jimmie Lee Harvey; and a sister, Dianna Harvey.

Survivors include a son, David Harvey and wife Sarah of Daniels, and a daughter, Angie Harvey of Beckley; three grandchildren, David Harvey, Jr., Brandon Griffin and Justin Scarafino; two great grandchildren, J.J. and Skyler Scarafino; four brothers, Lonnie Harvey and wife Terri of Princeton, W.Va., Billy Harvey and companion Verenna of Knoxville, Tenn., Leo Harvey and wife Ruby of Hinton, and Mike Harvey and wife Karen of Daniels; two sisters, Judy Harvey Copeland of Shady Spring, W.Va., and Pam Harvey of Beaver, W.Va.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating. Burial was in the Harvey Family Cemetery at White Oak. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
