Teresa Quiroz-Richmond was born in Tombstone, Ariz., in August 1936.
She was raised in Bisbee, Ariz., surrounded by a huge extended family including Quiroz, Martinez, Trujillo and Carbajals. Here she would eventually meet the love of her life, Buell, and begin raising her two sons, John and Richard and stepson Buell Dean. Her life would take her to Los Angeles and then Tucson, Ariz., where she would spend the majority of her life, though Bisbee would always be “home.”
She would enjoy a nursing career, joining the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was highly regarded and touted as one of the best and most compassionate nurses on staff.
Her life saw her preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and other beloved family. Almost eight years ago, her husband too passed.
She is survived by sons, Buell Dean, John, and Richard Richmond; daughter, Christina; a caregiver whom she very much considered her own daughter and who cared for her as such, Ede; and many family and friends.
Services will be held in Bisbee at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church September 21, 7:00 p.m. is a rosary. Sept. 22, 10:00 a.m. is a funeral Mass of Christian Burial, followed by a gathering in the church hall. She will be interred alongside her husband in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Ariz., at 2:00 p.m.
