She was born May 27, 1913, in Belpre, daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Reeder Melrose.
She was a graduate of Belpre High School and worked at the AW Cox Dept. Store for 32 years. She was a member of the O.E.S. and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Georgia is survived by a son, Truman "Bob" Lane (Nancy) of Vincent, Ohio; a grandson, Edward Lane (Penny) of Texas; three great grandchildren, Aaron Lane (Sammie), Curtis Lane and Samantha Lane, all of Texas; two great great grandchildren, Alani Lane and Aceson Lane, both of Texas; a brother, Herman Melrose of Belpre; a niece, Alice June Brand of Mineral Wells; several great nieces and nephews; and her grand-dogs, Tasha and Toby.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre.
