Ernest was born July 11, 1931, in Bentonville, Ark.
He served in the United States Coast Guard for 21 years, retiring in 1971 as a Chief Petty Officer.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Edna, who were married 61 years; and his three children, Debra (Neil) Armentrout, of Port Orchard, Wash., Carla Bloem (Dana Peters,) of Medford, Ore., and Richard (Janette) Sims, of Peoria, Ill; four grandchildren: Breanne and Brad Armentrout, of Port Orchard, Wash., and Kristel and Jefferson Loflin, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three great-grandsons. He is also survived by his sisters, Marjorie Milligan and Betty (Pete) Bromiley, of Wenatchee, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Ernest Sims; and his brother, John Sims.
Private services will be held under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Ernest Lowell Sims, 83, of Port Orchard, Wash. passed away Dec. 5, 2014 after a long illness.
