Bryan Keith Schmidt, 52, of Parsons, died at 9:01 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Labette Health.
He was born July 5, 1963 in Parsons to Joseph Harding and Doris Maxine (Frazier) Schmidt. He grew up in Parsons and attended Parsons Schools. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1981. He had attended Labette Community College.
He worked for Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons for seven years before leaving to work at LDF for ten years, SKIL, ResCare and Labette Health. He just recently returned to the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center as a Mental Health Developmental Disability Technician. Bryan enjoyed painting houses in the summer, sun tanning, fishing, reading, computers, Rush Concerts and Hiking in Arkansas. He made many trips to Kansas City to see his god children and California to see his nephew and great nieces and nephews. In his earlier years he attended First Baptist Church.
Survivors – Four brothers – Pat Schmidt and wife Lisa, Parsons, Roger Schmidt and wife Cathy, Parsons, David Schmidt and wife Connie, Coyville, Kansas and John Schmidt and wife Debbie, Ketchum, Oklahoma. Two sisters – Wanda Schmidt, Parsons and Judy Brooks and husband Mike, Edmond, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and God Children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Oliver Schmidt, Raymond Schmidt and Joe Mike Schmidt.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
