His other forenames were Eamonn Fergus-he was 21 when he was killed serving with 602 Squadron. He was awarded the DSO, DSO and 2 Bars. He was the son of Thomas Andrew and Florence Louise Finucane of Richmond, Surrey.
He was one of Churchill's "The Few" who fought in the skies above Kent during the Battle of Britain in September 1940. His name is honoured by a road dedicated in his memory on the Grassmead Estate at St. Mary Cray, Orpington, Kent.
