Frances lived in Kentucky as a young girl until her family moved to Michigan to find work. After she attended school in Stockbridge, she went to work at Jiffy Mix, where she met the love of her life Richard (Dick) Harold Bauer. They were married on February 27, 1947.
Frances and Dick had lived in the Chelsea area all of their married life and raised their family there. They had five children: Sandra K. Riddle of Chelsea, Susan M. Ojeda of Jackson, Michael E. Bauer (Brenda) of Chelsea, Cynthia A. Walz (Chuck) of Munith and Richard K. Bauer.
She is survived by seven grandchildren: Steven (Sarah) Riddle, Tina Miller, Tammy (Matt) Curtis, David Riddle, Brian Walz (Holly Davey), Kansey Bauer, Kevin Riddle; seven great-grandchildren Ryan and Cooper Riddle; Keith and Christopher Miller, Sierra and Peyton Curtis, and Cameron Cybert; and one great-great-grandchild Madison Miller.
Frances retired from Federal Screw Works in Chelsea. After retiring she started a business out of her home as a seamstress. She also worked for Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home. Her happy and friendly persona will be missed by her family and friends.
She enjoyed her life on this earth, but she will enjoy her life in Heaven so much more.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Richard, her son-in-law Earl Ray Riddle and her siblings Clarence West, Leo West, Susie West, Adeline Carpenter, Harold Shouse, Mollie Gnatgowski, and Phoebe Turner.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea with Pastor Steve Kincer officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea.
