Dustin Bradley Howard, 30, of Dover, passed away, Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

Dustin was born September 26, 1984 in Kinston and was a lifelong resident of Dover.

He attended West Craven High School and later earned his GED from Lenoir Community College. He was employed with Southeast Lawn Maintenance. He was a member of Dover VFD where he was very active for several years. Serving and protecting his community as a volunteer fire fighter brought him a lot of joy. Dustin was a very devoted family man and found much happiness spending time and just being with his daughters and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Hawkins.

Survivors include his parents, Rex and Jane Howard of Dover; his daughters, Madison Howard and Cazlyn Howard, both of Vanceboro and Bailey Futrell of Beulaville; his brother, Allen Howard and wife, Amy of New Bern; his nephew, Owen and his niece, Kinsley; maternal grandmother, Shirley Hawkins of Dover; aunts, Judy Hawkins Webber of Dover and Carolyn Creel of Winston-Salem; uncles, Robert Hawkins, Jr. and Joe L. Hawkins and wife, Maggie, all of Dover; his girlfriend, Amber Turnage of Hugo and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Garner Funeral Home with his Funeral Service to begin at 3 p.m. with Reverend Mike Pridgen officiating. Interment will follow in the Hawkins Family Cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
