Roberta Evelyn Patterson Perry was born in Magna, UT, 23 June 1917, the second of 11 children born to Charles Elmer and Leoni Leoti Wilding Patterson. She met William Stephen “Bill” Perry while teaching Sunday School to his children from a previous marriage. Bill and Roberta were married 26 Sep 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of three sons, Ronald S, William Glenn and Charles Leon. Roberta also helped raise Bill’s 3 other children, Steven L, Nanette and Richard J. She has longed to join her eternal companion who preceded her in death on 7 Feb 1998. After living 98 years, Roberta returned home on 16 Sep 2015 to once again join Bill.

Throughout her life, Roberta had many loves including nature, camping, bird watching, gardening, painting, playing the piano, chocolate and genealogy. She raised the most beautiful roses, irises and peonies. She also had a great love of the Gospel and served in many callings, including an inner-city mission with Bill to the Laotian refugees in Utah. She was a constant example of one who lived her testimony of Jesus Christ.

Roberta is survived by sons Ronald (Joan), Glenn (Louise) and Leon (Janet), step-sons Steven and Richard (Colleen), sisters Clara Evans, Mary Evans and Elva Trujillo and brothers Milton, Tom and Alvin Patterson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-daughter Nanette Haney, sisters Alice Boyer and Mabel Briggs, brothers George and David Patterson and grandchildren Linda Berry, Becky Perry, Mark Stinson and Sam Farmer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, 21 Sep 2015, at the Union Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 700 East 7500 South in Midvale. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sandy Health and Rehab as well as One Care Hospice for the special care they gave Roberta the last weeks of her life.
