A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baudette. Military Honors were provided by the Baudette Veterans Ceremonial Squad.
Ralph was born June 12, 1934, in Stapleton, NE, to Troy and Jessie Philpot. He attended grade school in Gandy, NE. His family moved to Baudette in 1949 and graduated from Baudette High School in 1953. He was in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He then moved to St. Louis, MO, with a friend from his 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division out of Camp Pendleton, CA. He began working for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, MO. He married Katherine Walton in 1958 at Presentation Catholic Church in Overland, MO. He then moved his family to Baudette in 1971. He began farming, and an appliance repair service. He also worked for Rowell Laboratories and retired from Solvay Laboratories in Baudette. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Life Member of the American Legion and VFW in Baudette. He was Commander of the American Legion in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and five sisters.
