Herzog, Ralph H.

Ralph H. Herzog, age 91, a resident of the Villa at Felician Village, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, June 3, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on August 2, 1923 in Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Mabel (Freis) Herzog. Ralph was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving during World War II. On June 25, 1949 he married the former Rosemary Fitzgerald at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2000. Ralph established Spring Hills Farm in Newton in 1964 and also was a lifelong employee at McMullen & Pitz Construction Company of Manitowoc.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Jack Herzog and Nancy Zeman, School Hill, Mike and LouAnn Herzog, School Hill; one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy Herzog and Chris Gargan, Verona, WI; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister: Jane Webb, Manitowoc; and two sisters-in-law: Faye Herzog, Kenosha and Dawn Herzog, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Gina Herzog; two brothers: Clyde Herzog and Rudy Herzog; and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Arline Olson and Marilyn and Fred Heckel.

Private family funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Patrick Nelson, SDS with burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, School Hill. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Felician Village and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for their kindness and care of Ralph.
