Terry Michael "Mike" Newman, 64, of Fairview, went home to be with his Lord with his family by his side on Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Mr. Newman was employed with Beacon Manufacturing Co. for 30 years and worked with Dalton's Phillip 66 until his death. He was a faithful church member at Sharon Methodist Church where he served in many ways.

Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alene Newman, and by his sister, Sandra Brady.

Surviving are siblings Glenda Nesbitt of Fairview, Joe Newman of Arden, Jim Newman and wife Elizabeth of Clairmont, Lynn Wardrup and husband Woody of Fairview, and Shirley Lollis and husband Bob of Swannanoa; many special nieces and nephews; special Aunt Ruby, lots of cousins, and Aunt Margie. He was loved very much by all and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service for Mr. Newman will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Sharon United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Allen and Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview-Sharon Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
