Mr. Jacob V. Blount, 82, of Peach Street, the husband of Mrs. Ella Blount, died recently in Portsmouth Naval Hospital after a short illness. A native of Portsmouth, he was the son of Moses and Mary Blount. He was retired from the Navy after 30 years. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Newton and Mrs. Dorothy White of Portsmouth; 19 grandchildren. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 14, in Fisher Funeral Home by the Rev. H.N. Johnson. Burial was in St. Juliens Creek Cemetery.
