It is believed that Henry was the son of Henry Comly and an unknown wife. Henry was a weaver by trade and a member of the Society of Friends (Quakers). About 1655 he married Judith Clarke and they had at least four children: Mary, John, George and Sarah. Judith died in 1670 and three years later on 25 Oct 1673 he married Joan Tyler. They had one son, Henry. On 19 Jul 1681 Henry purchased 500 acres of land from Pennsylvania founder William Penn. The following year he, Joan and Henry immigrated to the United States and they settled on the land in Warminster, Bucks, PA. Henry died in 1684 at the age of 69, leaving Joan and Henry on their own only two years after arriving in America.
