Clarabell Warner of Lake Titus, Malone, New York, passed away in the arms of her family Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at the age of 90.
Born in Burke, New York, on Dec. 13, 1924, she was the daughter of Allen and Rose Tennyson Spinner. Her parents predeceased her. Clarabell’s brothers, Edward, Roy and Lars, and half-brother Joseph Spinner, as well as her sisters, Ernestine Lester, Mary Malark, Lila Cheverie, and Sister Mary Isabella, have all predeceased her. She was also predeceased by a son, Timothy, at birth.
Clarabell was married on May 18, 1942, to Elger Roy Warner at St. John Bosco Church in Malone. He predeceased her Dec. 8, 1997.
She was employed by Consolidated Shoe Co. until she and Elger moved to Saranac Lake, where they owned and operated a taxi service for several years. They later bought their home in Lake Titus and she was employed by Tru Stitch Footwear in Malone for more than 20 years.
Clarabell made a warm and loving home for her family. She enjoyed caring for her four children and later her grandchildren: hemming their jeans, sewing new outfits, preparing holiday feasts, building their playhouses and taking them swimming. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Clarabell was a communicant of St. Andre’s Parish.
She is lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Jean (Beach) Warner of Springville, Indiana, and Gordon and Theresa (Reynolds) Warner of Lake Titus; and her daughters, Cynthia Williamson of Malone and Sandra Baker of Lake Titus. She was loved and will be missed by her seven grandsons, Glen, Scott, Neil, Lowell, and Kevin Warner, Heath Baker, and Joseph Stagnitta; two granddaughters, Carrie Baker Lathan and Serena Stagnitta; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Warner. She will also be missed by Pippin, her pet dog and loving companion.
The visitation will be held at the Spaulding Funeral Home in Malone on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road. Following the interment services, friends are invited to join the family at Gordon’s home at Lake Titus for at time of food, fellowship, and remembrance.
To honor her love of children and to continue her tradition of giving, memorial donations will be forwarded to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in her memory.
