Ducat, William J. "Duker"

William J. "Duker" Ducat, age 66, of 603 22nd St., Two Rivers, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2015 at his home, with his family at his side.

Duker was born in Two Rivers on October 7, 1948, son of the late Willard J. "Duke" and Joyce (Koch) Ducat. He attended St. Mark's Catholic Grade School, and also served as an altar boy at the church for many years, and was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. He joined the US Navy in Nov. 1969, serving until honorably discharged in Nov. 1972. He then served twenty years in the Navy Reserves. Duker married Joan E. Duescher on October 15, 1977 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Montpelier. He worked for several years at Mirro Aluminum Co., before working as a truck driver/distributor for G. Heileman Brewery. He then owned & operated "Duker's Depot" for several years, and retired from Eggers Industries in 2011.

Duker was an avid deer hunter; he enjoyed playing horseshoes, dartball, bowling, dancing in his garage, making firewood, and loved all Wisconsin Sports - especially the Milwaukee Brewers. He loved spending time with his family, and was a very caring and loving husband & father who was known as a joyful man, always with a smile on his face. Special thanks to Duker's brother, Warren and his wife, Gaylynn and her sisters for allowing Duker to become the woodsman he was. He enjoyed cutting down trees, bundling the wood, and selling it in his wood shack. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Christopher Penkala of Sheboygan; one brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Gaylynn Ducat of Two Rivers; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Allen Horack, New Holstein, Julie Ducat, Two Rivers, Janet and Thomas Bauknecht, Two Rivers, Jeanine Holschbach, Menasha, Jerilyn and Brian Waskow, Two Rivers. He is further survived by five brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law: Kenneth (Nola) Duescher, Marilyn (Otto) Mueller, and Beverly Duescher, all of Luxemburg, James (Patricia) Duescher, Kewaunee, Rev. Steven (Connie) Duescher, California, Roger (Rose) Duescher, Texas; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Alida Duescher, and a brother-in-law, Glenn Duescher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Maurice Mmegbuadimma, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
