Jean Bode Siess - 1937-2015

Jean Bode Siess found peace and healing in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 16, 2015, at her home in Boerne. Jean was born March 7, 1937, in McCamey to Louise Bode Dorris and Durand Dorris. Her forefathers immigrated from Germany in 1855 and established Bodeville, which still exists today. Jean was an honor graduate of Seminole High School and attended Texas Tech and the University of Texas, majoring in French.
In 1979 Jean married Charles Siess and the two became adventurous soulmates, traveling the world. The enjoyed fishing from Alaska to Patagonia and wing shooting from South Texas to Scotland.
Those who knew Jean Admired how valiantly and with such dignity she battled cancer. A battle that began in 1979, but in the end, death was her victory.
As a lover of the arts, while living in Santa Fe, New Mexico 1999 to 2009, she served on the Santa Fe Opera Board, was a patron of the Santa Fe Symphony and an active participant in the production of the annual Buck-A-Roo Ball.
After moving to Boerne Jean found great joy in her Tuesday morning bible study group, and mentoring in the Boerne School District. Jean is survived by her beloved husband Charles, sons, Lance Crawford and wife Denise, Thomas Muchard and wife Suzanne, Charles Siess III and wife Marguerite, and daughter-in-law Cathy Siess. Also grandchildren Kelon Cantrell and Cheyenne Crawford, Macey and Wyatt Muchard, Lauren and Charles Paul Siess, and Mathew Siess. Brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Marney Kepner.
