Mrs. Frankie Pauline Smith Ward, 90, passed away September 16, 2015, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia following an extended illness.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 2 o'clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 12 Noon, until the hour of service, and burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the chapel service.

A former resident of Macon, Pauline lived at Lake Sinclair for the past almost 18 years. She was born June 23, 1925, in Hazelhurst, Georgia, the eldest of 8 children born to the late Franklin and Luketta Smith, and was the last survivor of her 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Pauline was married almost 60 years to the late Paul Alonzo Ward Sr. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Paul Alonzo Ward Jr., Paul Allen Ward, and Frank Newman Ward Sr., and 1 daughter Elizabeth Ann Ward Rotondo.

She has 1 surviving daughter, Elsie Elaine Ward of Milledgeville, Georgia. She also has a number of surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an abiding love and compassion for animals. During the last 12 years her constant companion was her toy poodle,"Little Bear."

Pauline was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and fishing. Often called the "best cook ever," she loved sharing and celebrating her cooking talents with family and friends. A humble and selflessly devoted mother and wife, Pauline's greatest pride and joy were her children and family. Her fulfillment came in serving and bringing joy to them.
Her passing leaves an emptiness and aching in the hearts of family and friends whose lives she touched with her gentle kindness and love.
