Barbara Carol (Swafford) Capps passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at age 70 in Tracy after a lengthy illness. Born May 2, 1945 in El Dorado, Kansas, to Clyde and Dena [Truitt] Swafford, she was the third of five children. She lived in San Jose, Calif., for several years before settling in Tracy in the mid-1970s.

Barbara spent most of her professional life as a child support investigator with the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office, a job she loved.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and "momma" to Missy, her Sulphur-crested cockatoo.

She enjoyed traveling and fishing, crocheting, jewelry making, and genealogy.Barbara Carol (Swafford) Tennison passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at age 70 in Tracy after a short illness. Survivors include her husband of nearly 38 years, Everett Capps; daughter Korina (Alan Hale) Johnson; stepdaughter Susan (Doug) Gonsolis; stepsons Bob (Ruth) Capps and Gary Capps; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings Ruth Pyatt, Dale (Janis) Swafford, Billie (Randy) Unkel, and sister-in-law Barbara Swafford. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Swafford, and her brother-in-law Clifford Pyatt. 

Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 17, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, Tracy; followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. at Tracy Public Cemetery.
