Dickie, Peter Edwin, 80, Lower Onslow, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Onslow, he was a son of the late Walter and Hilda (Richards) Dickie. Peter and his wife Anna established Glooscap Holstein Farms, Lower Onslow in 1966, and where he was a Holstein Dairy Farmer for many years. Peter loved to show cattle. He was a life member of the Truro Club, Truro.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna (Whidden) Dickie; sons, Tony (Gail) of East Mountain; David (Karen) of Masstown; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Jacob, Thomas; great-grandson, Ethan; brother, Vaughn Dickie (Brenda), Onslow; sister, Estelle Rector, Truro.
He was predeceased by brothers, Douglas, Stratton, Carl, Gordon, Keith; sister, Doreen Hunter.
No visitation or flowers by family request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in the Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery, Lower Onslow with Reverend Glenn MacLean officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the MS Society Atlantic Division or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
