Graveside services for John Haskell Ketchum will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Darrough Pavilion with Pastor Robert O'Neill officiating. John passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 in Garland, Texas, at the age of 80. John Haskell Ketchum was born October 29, 1934 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to James Christopher and Loda Marie (Hammock) Ketchum. He was born and raised in Hugo, OK, and he lived here until the mid-1950s, when he moved to the Mesquite, TX area, where he lived for 40-plus years. He worked as a meat cutter with Tom Thumb grocery stores for many years. John enjoyed woodworking, and he loved walking his dog, Bucky. He was a noble father who raised his children by himself for many years; he gave a lot for his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ketchum, and one brother-in-law, Bill Reynolds. John is survived by his mother, Loda Ketchum of Hugo, OK; his son, John Michael Ketchum and wife, Paula, of Mesquite, TX; his daughter, Linda Jonas of Lewisville, TX; four brothers: Jim Ketchum and wife Carolyn of Coos Bay, OR, Dale Ketchum and wife, Karen, of Coos Bay, OR, Howard Ketchum and wife, Judy, of Hugo, OK, and Stan Ketchum and wife, Laura, of Hugo, OK; two sisters: Wilda Reynolds of Mesquite, TX and Paula Eddy and husband, Bob, of Coos Bay, OR; three grandchildren: Mandi Reese of Lewisville, TX, Cale Reese and wife, Amanda, of Sanger, TX, and Amy Maxwell and husband, Kevin, of Plano, TX; two great-grandchildren: Calei Reese of Sanger, TX and Myla Maxwell of Plano, TX, as well as many other extended family and friends.
