Mr. Neal was born and raised in Durham. He was educated in the Durham schools and a graduate of Duke University. He was employed for 25 years with Blue Bell Company in Research and Development. Mr. Neal served his country with the US Navy. He was an avid golfer as well as a private pilot. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Sybil White Neal of the home; daughter, Susan Neal Owens of Burlington, NC; son, Clinton White Neal, and his wife, Teresa, of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Harlan N. Owens and Sofie Gibson-Neal; and his sister, Loretta Moose, and her husband, Harvey, of Durham.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11:00am at Temple Baptist Church, 4504 Sterling Drive, Durham. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Mofield. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
