Gary Lee "Monk" Hammond, 54, of Ironton, OH, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. The Lawrence County, OH native was born November 30, 1960, son of Janet Haynes and the late Kenneth "Pat" Hammond.

He is survived by
his wife, Teresa Bryant Hammond;
two daughters, Hannah Lee (Ridge McEwen) Hammond of Ironton, OH and Taylor Renee (Daniel Wagoner) Hammond of Chesapeake, OH;
four grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, Elaina and Adalyn;
his brothers, Frank Hammond of Coal Grove, OH and Jeffrey (Angie) Haynes of Kitts Hill, OH;
a sister, Kim Wilburn Barker of Coal Grove, OH;
special in-laws, Gary and Anita Bryant of Deering, OH.

He was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a Custodian for Dawson-Bryant Elementary School. He just recently rededicated his life to the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father and granpoppy to his family. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren his hobbies of nature, such as turtle noodling, fishing and deer hunting.
