Gilbert "Bruce" Gossett, 85, resident of Grant County, IN, went to be with the Lord in his Fairmount home at 10:55 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015. He was one of five children born to Leo Clyde and Bernice (Sanders) Gossett. On January 29, 1949, he married his sweetheart, Della "Mae" Duling, and she survives.

Bruce worked as a Tool and Die Maker for 31 years with GM and retired in 1988. He also owned and operated Gossett Excavating from 1956-1980. He was a Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 20 in Fairmount from 1965-1970, the Kiwanis Club in North Webster, IN, and Fairmount United Methodist Church.

Bruce loved to fish, garden, and do woodworking. He and Mae were "snow birds" and spent 20 years of their winters in Bradenton, FL. During the summers, from 1968-1994, they stayed at Sawmill Lake (one of the Upper Barbee Lakes) in North Webster. Bruce especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mae, of 66 years, Bruce is survived by his children, Steven Lynn Gossett, Burkesville, KY, Michael Alan Gossett, Fairmount, and Susan Dianne (Wayne) Chapel, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Shane (Kelly) Henderson, Noblesville, Chad Henderson, Yorba Linda, CA, Amy Stitt, Jonesboro, and Carrie Bair, Jonesboro; 11 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ciera, Ava Mae, Owen, Bree, Kenzie, Blayklee, Alexis, Brayden, Emma, and Ella; sisters-in-law, Maxine Gossett, Linda Marley, and Janiece Duling; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Gossett and Robert Gossett; and his sisters, Martha Shoults and Betty Evans.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
